Insufferable Dilemma/Extremely Difficult to Bear | અસહ્ય દ્વિધા

There is a misconception in our society, where non medical people are supposed to be more knowledgeable as per their past experiences than believing a medical person. This thing is not only prevalent in villages or small town but also in metropolitan cities, where an educated, independent women would first consider the advice given by non medical person rather than  consulting a doctor. Such dilemma, lands the patients in big suffering and worse outcomes.
So, here’s a case we came across recently where a highly educated and independent 52 year old lady suffering from severe pain since a year or more. She was sacred to visit the doctor at the very first instance because of the advise given by her friends where they frightened her by saying that after surgery she won’t be able to carry out her day to day activities but then her daughter who herself pursing MBBS, couldn’t see her mother in such pain and decided to take her for consultation in one of the most prestigious hospital of surat, where the primary investigation was carried out by the resident doctor and advised for a consultation by senior Gynecologist Dr. Kaajal Mangukiya.
So they arrived at our Oorkid Hospital, vesu branch to Meet Dr. Kaajal Mangukiya on a Monday evening and After the routine examinations by Dr. Kaajal, it was found that the uterus of the patient was as big as a papaya along with deep rooted infection. She also advised an MRI to confirm the Diagnosis. As Dr. Kaajal saw, the reports were too bad and  the lady was advised to undergo surgery as the inflections had increased many folds that it could not be cured by medications. Dr. Kaajal advised her that along with uterus the ovaries were to be removed as both the ovaries had a very thick layer of blood collected inside them due to infection. During, the surgery, Dr. found  both the ovaries were so huge that they were touching each other commonly called kissing ovaries and were filled with old blood which was dark brown in color and this is termed as chocolate cyst. All the layers of uterus were deeply rooted with infections and fallopian tubes filled with water. Intestines and rectum were firmly attached with the uterus and this  made it quite difficult to segregate them. The procedure usually takes half an hour to 45 minutes but this surgery took almost 2 hours to get successfully completed and now the patient has recovered well with full enthusiasm.

આપણા સમાજમાં એક ગેરસમજ છે, જ્યાં તબીબી ન હોય તેવા લોકો તેમના ભૂતકાળના અનુભવો અનુસાર તબીબી વ્યક્તિ પર વિશ્વાસ કરવા કરતાં વધુ જાણકાર હોવાનું માનવામાં આવે છે.  આ બાબત માત્ર ગામડાઓ કે નાના શહેરોમાં જ નહીં પરંતુ મહાનગરોમાં પણ પ્રચલિત છે, જ્યાં શિક્ષિત, સ્વતંત્ર મહિલાઓ ડૉક્ટરની સલાહ લેવાને બદલે બિન-તબીબી વ્યક્તિ દ્વારા આપવામાં આવેલી સલાહને પહેલા ધ્યાનમાં લે છે.  આવી મૂંઝવણ, દર્દીઓને મોટી વેદના અને ખરાબ પરિણામોમાં લાવે છે.
તેથી, અહીં એક એવો કિસ્સો છે જે અમે તાજેતરમાં સામે આવ્યો છે જેમાં એક ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષિત અને સ્વતંત્ર 52 વર્ષની મહિલા એક વર્ષ કે તેથી વધુ સમયથી ગંભીર પીડાથી પીડાય છે તેમના મિત્રો દ્વારા આપવામાં આવેલી સલાહને કારણે તે પ્રથમ તબક્કે ડૉક્ટરની મુલાકાત લેવાનું ટાળ્યું હતું અને એની જગહ તેમના મિત્ર એ એવું કહીને ડરાવ્યું હતું કે સર્જરી પછી તે તેમની રોજિંદી પ્રવૃત્તિઓ કરી શકશે નહીં પરંતુ પછી તેની પુત્રી જે પોતે એમબીબીએસ કરે છે એ એમની માતાને આટલી પીડામાં જોઈ શકતી ન હતી અને તેને સુરતની સૌથી પ્રતિષ્ઠિત હોસ્પિટલમાં પરામર્શ માટે લઈ જવાનું નક્કી કર્યું, જ્યાં  ડૉક્ટર દ્વારા પ્રાથમિક તપાસ કરવામાં આવી હતી અને વરિષ્ઠ ગાયનેકોલોજિસ્ટ ડૉ. કાજલ માંગુકિયા દ્વારા પરામર્શ માટે સલાહ આપવામાં આવી હતી.
તેથી તેઓ સોમવારે સાંજે ડૉ. કાજલ માંગુકિયાને મળવા અમારી ઓરકીડ હોસ્પિટલ, વેસુ શાખામાં પહોંચ્યા અને ડૉ. કાજલ દ્વારા નિયમિત તપાસ કર્યા પછી જાણવા મળ્યું કે દર્દીનું ગર્ભાશય પપૈયા જેટલું મોટું હતું અને તેના મૂળમાં ચેપ હતો.  તેમને નિદાનની પુષ્ટિ કરવા માટે એમઆરઆઈની પણ સલાહ આપી.  જેમાં ડૉ. કાજલે જોયું, રિપોર્ટ્સ ખૂબ જ ખરાબ હતા અને મહિલાને સર્જરી કરાવવાની સલાહ આપવામાં આવી હતી કારણ કે ઇન્ફેક્શન્સ ઘણા ગણા વધી ગયા હતા કે તે દવાઓથી ઠીક થઈ શકતા નથી. ડો. કાજલે તેમને
